Which 10 States Are Reporting Winter Wheat Planting?

Nebraska

The USDA reported that 8% of winter wheat had been planted in Nebraska. Last year at this time, 6% had been planted. The state’s farmers are 3 percentage points ahead of the five-year average.

Colorado

The winter wheat planting in Colorado was reported at 6% complete, which is five percentage points ahead of last week. Last year at this time, 16% of the crop had been planted. Planting is behind the five-year average of 17%.

Texas

The USDA reported that 5% of Texas winter wheat had been planted. Last year at this time, 6% had been planted. The state is on track with the five-year average for winter wheat planting.

Idaho

Idaho’s winter wheat planting is at 5%. That’s a 4-percentage point jump from last week. Idaho is 1 percentage point behind last year at this time and 2 percentage points behind the five-year average.

Oregon

Oregon’s winter wheat planting was reported at 5%. That’s 3 percentage points ahead of the prior week and 1 percentage point ahead of last year. The five-year average is 4%.

South Dakota

The USDA reported that 4% of South Dakota winter wheat had been planted. Last year at this time, 11% had been planted. The state is behind the five-year average of 9% for winter wheat planting.

Indiana

The winter wheat planting in Indiana was reported at 2% complete, which is the same as last year at this time. The five-year average is 1%.

Kansas

In Kansas, winter wheat planting reached 1% the week ending Sept. 7. Last year 4% was planted. The five-year average is 2%.

Montana

Winter wheat planting in Montana was reported at 1%. Last year at this time it was at 2% planted. The state is behind the five-year average of 5%.
