USDA Offices, Including FSA and NRCS, Disappear From DOGE’s Lease Termination List

In the last week, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has silently updated the lease terminations listed on its Wall of Receipts, and USDA offices have been majorly impacted.

In March, the Wall of Receipts listed nearly 750 government office lease terminations, planned as part of the DOGE agenda to “maximize governmental efficiency and productivity.” Now, the listed offices number less than 500, and a large chunk of the offices no longer listed are those of USDA agencies.

One of the USDA offices no longer listed is the Hendersonville Farm Service Agency (FSA) office in North Carolina. Two sources familiar with the office confirmed a change in the office’s lease status last week, one telling Successful Farming the lease had been renewed.

As of May 21, the Hendersonville office was still listed for lease termination, along with 562 other offices on the Wall of Receipts. On May 28, Hendersonville FSA was no longer listed, and the total number of lease terminations had shrunk to 494.

This all comes in the midst of Elon Musk’s reported departure from the Trump Administration.

Comparing the current DOGE list to previous Successful Farming reporting, more than 70 USDA agency offices have been quietly removed from the Wall of Receipts. Over half are FSA and Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) offices, which often work the most closely with farmers.

Has the status of your local office changed? Here’s a closer look at which offices have been removed from the Wall of Receipts.

Farm Service Agency Offices No Longer Listed

Of eight state FSA offices originally on the DOGE list, seven are no longer listed for lease termination:

  • Montgomery, Alabama
  • Madera, California*
  • Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky
  • Annapolis, Maryland
  • Fargo, North Dakota
  • Hato Rey, Puerto Rico
  • Nacogdoches, Texas

*Note: Although this location is no longer listed for lease termination as a state FSA office, it is now listed for lease termination as an NRCS office, with the same reported lease value.

The one remaining state FSA office listed by DOGE is in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico.

Of 14 county FSA offices originally on the DOGE list, 11 are no longer listed for lease termination:

  • Batesville, Arkansas
  • Paragould, Arkansas
  • Bakersfield, California
  • Baudette, Minnesota
  • Clovis, New Mexico
  • Roswell, New Mexico
  • Hendersonville, North Carolina
  • Wilkesboro, North Carolina
  • Watertown, South Dakota
  • Gonzales, Texas
  • Monticello, Utah

The three remaining county FSA offices from the original list are Puerto Rico offices. Additionally, five offices that were originally listed as NRCS offices are now listed for lease termination as county FSA offices.

Natural Resources Conservation Service Offices No Longer Listed

Of 36 NRCS offices originally on the DOGE lease-termination list, 23 have been removed:

  • Fairbanks, Alaska
  • Yuma, Arizona
  • Batesville, Arkansas
  • Woodland, California*
  • Salinas, California
  • Blythe, California
  • Yreka, California*
  • Lawrence, Kansas
  • Amherst, Massachusetts
  • Columbia, Missouri
  • Missoula, Montana
  • Lincoln, Nebraska
  • Dover, New Hampshire
  • Raton, New Mexico*
  • Gallup, New Mexico*
  • Syracuse, New York
  • Goldsboro, North Carolina
  • Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands
  • Arecibo, Puerto Rico*
  • Temple, Texas
  • Logan, Utah
  • Saint Johnsbury, Vermont
  • Dayton, Washington

*Note: Although this location is no longer listed for lease termination as an NRCS office, it is now listed for lease termination as a county FSA office, with the same reported lease value (or similar reported lease value in the case of Arecibo).

Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Offices No Longer Listed

Of 19 Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) offices originally on the DOGE list, 11 are no longer listed for lease termination:

  • Fort Collins, Colorado
  • Barrigada, Guam
  • Boise, Idaho*
  • Topeka, Kansas
  • Baltimore, Maryland
  • Billings, Montana
  • Bismarck, North Dakota
  • Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
  • Hato Rey, Puerto Rico
  • Houston, Texas
  • Olympia, Washington

*Note: Although this location is no longer listed for lease termination as an APHIS office, it is now listed for lease termination as an NRCS office.

One APHIS office was listed by DOGE after previous reporting — North Platt, Nebraska — which brings the total number of offices still listed for lease termination to nine.

Forest Service Offices No Longer Listed

Of 12 Forest Service offices originally on the DOGE lease-termination list, 11 have been removed:

  • Montgomery, Alabama
  • Anchorage, Alaska
  • Mesa, Arizona
  • Phoenix, Arizona
  • Fort Collins, Colorado
  • Tallahassee, Florida
  • Atlanta, Georgia
  • Ackerman, Mississippi
  • Albuquerque, New Mexico
  • Silver City, New Mexico
  • Pomeroy, Washington

The one remaining Forest Service office from the original DOGE list is in Mount Shasta, California. There is also a Washington DC Forest Service office now listed.

Rural Housing Service Offices No Longer Listed

Of 11 Rural Housing Service (RHS) offices originally on the DOGE list, four are no longer listed for lease termination:

  • Batesville, Arkansas
  • Dover, Delaware
  • Bangor, Maine
  • Christiansted, U.S. Virgin Islands

One RHS office was listed by DOGE after previous reporting — Greenville, North Carolina — which brings the total number of offices still listed for lease termination to eight.

Agricultural Marketing Service Offices No Longer Listed

Of eight Agricultural Marketing Service offices originally on the DOGE lease-termination list, three have been removed:

  • Los Angeles, California
  • Jessup, Maryland
  • Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Food Safety and Inspection Service Offices No Longer Listed

The one Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) office originally listed for lease termination has been removed:

However, there is a Brea, California, FSIS office now listed for lease termination.
