The New Massey Ferguson 5M Series Is The ‘Jack of All Trades’ for Tractors

Massey Ferguson has updated its 5M Series tractor, designed to be a high-hour, multitasking workhorse.

“From a versatility standpoint, the Massey Ferguson 5M is the ‘jack of all trades’ for tractors,” said Kevin Lewallen, tactical marketing manager for compact and utility equipment at Massey Ferguson. “You can tailor it to your specific needs — so you can pay for the things that you find value in, and not the things you don’t.”

Versatile Build Options

The 5M is available in four horsepower options: 105, 115, 135, and 145 hp. Farmers can select between two transmission options: the 12×12 transmission or the Massey Ferguson-developed, 16-speed Dyna-4 transmission. Additionally, each configuration is available with a cab or open station.

The 135 and 145 hp models are built with larger chassis than their lower-horsepower counterparts, and are capable of lifting up to 11,905 pounds, intended for round bale handling or municipal mowing attachments.

Comfort in Functionality

The 5M Series is available with an optional brake-to-neutral function, simplifying repetitive tasks and high-obstacle functions such as mowing. A front-loader provision with live third mechanical joystick is available to streamline control of grapples or bale squeezers.

The cab models are built for long workdays. These come standard with an upgraded HVAC system, and are available with optional suspended swivel seat, mechanical cab suspension, and cab-mounted LED work lights. The Visio Roof is also available as an upgrade to improve visibility when operating the loader.

To minimize downtime, Massey Ferguson has engineered the 5M Series tractors with ground-level access to daily maintenance points. The tractors also boast a large, 52-gallon fuel tank, to work long days without refill.

“Time off the job means lost productivity,” Lewallen said. “From a streamlined emissions system to a fuel tank that supports longer shifts, this machine addresses the core needs of working operations.”

Affordable Technology

The 5M Series is available with ISOBUS Light and Auto-Guide-ready configurations, intended for an easy access point into the world of precision agriculture.

“This is the first time where we’ll have affordable technology options available on the 5M series,” Lewallen said.

This also includes telemetry functions that provide real-time machine information such as service intervals, alerts, and geofencing. For fertilizer application or hay production tracking, Taskdoc Basic comes standard, designed for more efficient input use.

“Most farmers aren’t using auto guidance to rake or ted hay,” said Derek Reusser, tactical marketing manager for high-horsepower tractors at AGCO. “What if we could make their operations more efficient to help them put up better-quality hay tomorrow? This is just one opportunity we’ve had.”

Availability

The new Massey Ferguson 5M Series is available to order now, with deliveries expected early 2026. For more information, visit masseyferguson.com.
