Soybeans Up 55¢ Week-Over-Week | Friday, Aug. 15, 2025

After losing nearly 16¢ Thursday, November soybeans regained almost every penny Friday, ending up 14¢ at $10.42½ per bushel. Week-over-week, the contract closed up 55¢.

December corn ended the day up 8¢ at $4.05¼ per bushel. For the week, the contract closed down less than a penny.

December CBOT wheat ended the day up 2½¢ at $5.27 per bushel. December KC wheat also closed up 2½¢ at $5.28½ per bushel. December Minneapolis wheat was down 2¾¢ at $5.89¼. All three contracts closed lower week-over-week.

October live cattle ended the day up $3.83 at $230.65 per hundredweight (cwt). September feeder cattle closed up $6.33 at $347.35 per cwt. October lean hogs were up 98¢ at $90.10 per cwt.

Ahead of 3:30 p.m. CT, October crude oil was down 71¢ at $62.32 per barrel.

The S&P 500 Index was down 18.74 points, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 34.86 points.

Grains in the Green This Morning: 9:18 a.m. CT

Ahead of 9 a.m. CT, December corn was up 2¢ at $3.99¼ per bushel.

November soybeans were up 6¢ at $10.34½ per bushel.

December CBOT wheat was up 1¾¢ at $5.26¼ per bushel. December KC wheat was up 2¼¢ at $5.28¼ per bushel. December Minneapolis wheat was up less than a penny at $5.92½.

Naomi Blohm, senior market advisor with Total Farm Marketing, said this morning that with the August World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report behind them, traders are focused on weather, a crop tour coming up next week. trade deals, and export sales.

She said the crop tour should provide insight on how widespread corn pollination issues are. Successful Farming’s Agronomy Executive Editor Adrienne Held reports: “Corn growers across parts of the Midwest have been reporting an unusual and potentially yield-limiting phenomenon this season — tassel wrap — and agronomists say it’s worth scouting fields now to assess its impact on pollination.”

Ahead of 9 a.m. CT, October live cattle were down 5¢ at $226.78 per hundredweight (cwt). September feeder cattle were down 93¢ at $340.10 per cwt. October lean hogs were up 5¢ at $89.18 per cwt.

October crude oil was down 81¢ at $62.22 per barrel.

The U.S. Dollar Index September contract was down to 97.63.

The S&P 500 Index was down 5.27 points, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 188.40 points.
