Nufarm Americas Inc. has secured EPA registration for two formulations of their chlorantraniliprole insecticide products, Naxypro and Naxypro Plus, now that the active ingredient has come off patent. Chlorantraniliprole is widely known for effective, long-lasting control of lepidopteran pests, the company said in a press statement. European corn borer, armyworms, cutworms, codling moth, and pink bollworm are examples of yield robbing lepidopteran insects.

Nufarm is a global crop protection and seed technologies company headquartered in Melbourne, Australia.

“The Naxypro insecticide portfolio opens the door to channel partners seeking a technical alternative,” said Jeff Wagner, VP of Sales, Crop Protection at Nufarm. “It’s a win for growers across crop markets who need access to dependable chlorantraniliprole solutions with economic upside now, as well as formulation strides that add advantage in years to come.”

Naxypro

Naxypro insecticide is a flexible integrated pest management (IPM) tool that works quickly to protect an array of crops for up to three weeks from chewing and sucking pest damage, including armyworms, corn earworm, and European corn borer.

It is approved for use in apples, almonds, blackberry, blueberries, citrus, corn (sweet), grapes, peaches, pears, pecan, peppers, pistachio, pomegranates, potatoes, raspberries, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and walnuts.

Naxypro Plus

Naxypro Plus is a combination insecticide formulated for broad-acre applications such as soybeans, corn, canola, cotton, peanuts, and tobacco.

This insecticide targets lepidoptera such as armyworm, earworm, and soybean looper. It is also designed to control damaging insects such as aphids, mites, and whiteflies.

The product is formulated to “stop pest damage and sustain broad-spectrum control for up to three weeks,” Nufarm’s website said.

Naxypro Duo

Naxypro Duo is pending registration by the EPA. This “two-way formulation of chlorantraniliprole and bifenthrin will offer broad-spectrum control for high-value tree nuts, fruit, and vegetable crops with reduced impact to beneficials,” the company’s product announcement said.

Availability

The Naxypro portfolio will be available to U.S. farmers for the 2026 crop year beginning in January.
