July soybeans closed down 14¢ at $10.48½ per bushel.

July wheat contracts closed higher. CBOT wheat ended the day up 1¾¢ at $5.30¼ per bushel. KC wheat was up less than a penny at $5.25¼. Minneapolis wheat was up 7¢ at $6.03¼.

“Corn futures fell sharply Tuesday as strong planting progress, early harvest reports from Brazil, and concerns about weakening U.S. export demand pressured the market,” said the Grain Market Insider newsletter by Stewart-Peterson Inc.

“Soybean futures ended lower Tuesday, with July closing just below the 100-day moving average for the first time this month, as rapid U.S. planting progress, weaker soy product prices, and limited fresh news pressured the market.”

August live cattle ended the day down $1.13 at $208.18 per hundredweight (cwt). August feeder cattle closed down $2.53 at $295.63 per cwt. July lean hogs were up $1.15 at $103.30 per cwt.

July soybeans were down 6¢ at $10.56½ per bushel.

“I continue to closely watch the U.S. dollar,” said Cole Raisbeck, commodities broker with Kluis Commodity Advisors. “After Trump announced tariffs on the EU would be delayed until July 9, equities started the week higher, which helped the dollar climb. Watch for additional details on trade agreements with India, South Korea, and Japan. If the dollar continues to strengthen, these developments could also impact the U.S. dollar and put pressure on grain market export demand.”

As of 9:02 a.m. CT, the U.S. Dollar Index June contract was up to 99.69.

August live cattle were up 18¢ at $209.48 per hundredweight (cwt). August feeder cattle were up 18¢ at $298.33 per cwt. July lean hogs were up 98¢ at $103.13 per cwt.
