Väderstad Unveils New Tillage, Smart Farming Products, Next-Generation Planter Row Units

Väderstad has revealed its 2026 product lineup including a brand-new row unit for its Tempo planters, a third disc axle configuration for the Carrier XL disc cultivator, and the Väderstad E-Connect digital platform.

Väderstad’s new row unit for the Tempo planter builds on 15 years of the company’s development in high-speed planting.

“Over the years, our current row unit has been continuously refined with new features and improved accuracy. But this time, we went back to the drawing board. The result is not just an upgrade — it’s a complete redesign,” said Oskar Karlsson, vice president of product and development for planters, at Väderstad. “After years of development, testing, and fine-tuning, we’re ready for the new generation row unit — taking the next step in agronomic precision, user-experience, and field performance.”

The new row unit comes with many new features including:

  • Planting depth setting from a prescription map
  • Easier seed tube change
  • Easier switch between crops
  • An even narrower seed slot
  • New electronics
  • New seed hoppers
  • Upgraded seed meters with one-handed seed meter opening
  • A more intuitive and durable design

Väderstad has tightened the seed disc angles — creating a narrower seed furrow — for more precise seed placement while planting at high speeds.

The new Tempo planter row unit is available as a central-fill version with a 1.3 gallon mini-hopper, and a standard version with a larger seed hopper on the row unit.

The new row unit will replace Väderstad’s previous model, and will be fitted to all Tempo product models starting June 2026. This includes the Tempo F 6-8, Tempo V 6-12, Tempo L 8-24, and Tempo K 24 planters.

Third Disc Axle

Väderstad is launching a new front tool option: the third disc axle configuration for the Carrier XL 425–725 disc cultivator models. This third axle is intended for work in ultra-shallow tillage, and mechanical weed control.

“This new front tool for Carrier XL is a game-changer for mechanical weed control, especially against herbicide-resistant blackgrass and ryegrass,” said Wolfram Hastolz, commercial manager for tillage at Väderstad.

The Carrier XL with third disc axle is designed for high weed-kiling rates while preserving soil moisture and reducing fuel consumption. The new front tool created a stronger stale seedbed, promoted weed germination, and enabled effective elimination in a second pass, according to Väderstad’s field tests.

The new third disc axle is compatible with standard Carrier XL disc arms, and can be fitted with either Väderstad’s CrossCutter Disc, CrossCutter Disc Aggressive, 450mm disc, or 470 TrueCut discs. The new third disc axle will be available to order for Carrier XL 425-725 starting October 2025, with deliveries in spring 2026.

E-Connect

Väderstad E-Connect is a new digital tool available for farmers to monitor and manage Väderstad machinery in real time. It provides visibility to fleet activity and machine performance, while also tracking progress and analyzing efficiency.

Väderstad E-Connect is designed to integrate with most major Farm Management Information Systems (FMIS). Users with compatible Väderstad machines will be able to create an account, and login to the E-Connect portal, where they will be able to add their machines and invite co-workers to the system.

E-Connect will be available for Väderstad seed drills, planters, and tillage equipment machines equipped with a connected gateway, launching in early 2026.
