Titan International displayed new, larger sizes of the existing Goodyear R14T tire for use on sprayers and combines at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville.
The tread design is a crossover combination of the R1 and R4 patterns, and has been available in smaller compact utility tires for a few years.

“The unique thing about the R14 is a lug void ratio that’s good for the road, which self-propelled sprayers do all the time,” said Scott Sloan, Titan global ag and LSW product manager. “It is also good in hillier areas because instead of a solid bar, it’s broken up and provides more biting edges so you don’t get drifting or sliding down hills.”
Advantages of New Sizes
The larger Goodyear R14T tire sizes provide several key benefits for sprayers and combines, according to Titan:
- Lower rolling resistance allows savings on fuel.
- Improved road travel as a result of the higher lug void ratio in the tire center, which helps reduce vibration and provides a quieter ride. This ratio also allows for less ground surface destruction in the field.
- Better cleanout due to additional space between shoulder lugs.
- Enhanced stability and greater hillside traction makes it easier for challenging terrains, especially when maneuvering combines on hills during harvest season.

“When compared with an R4, the Goodyear R14T has 15-20% less rolling resistance,” said Mark Rankin, director of business development at Titan International. “This is going to be a game-changer for farmers when it comes to sprayer and combine applications.”
The full line of R14T tires is available now from Goodyear dealers nationwide.
