Key Points

  • Six weeks without data: USDA’s Crop Progress report was not released today due to the ongoing government shutdown, marking the sixth missed report.

The USDA was expected to publish the 32nd Crop Progress report of the growing season today, but the report was not published for the sixth week in a row because of the continued government shutdown.

The shutdown affected all four expected October reports from USDA, and has now affected two in November. Just two more reports are anticipated after today for the 2025 season, with the last expected Nov. 24, 2025.

In lieu of official data from USDA, here are estimates of corn and soybean harvest, along with estimates of the U.S. winter wheat crop progress and condition.

About this time last year, USDA reported 95% of the corn crop had been harvested, although the five-year average was just 84% at the time.

Soybeans

The average estimate for U.S. soybean harvest as of Nov. 9 was 96%, according to the Reuters poll. Analyst estimates ranged from 94–99%.

Historical Progress
