National Ag Day will be celebrated March 24, 2026, with a series of events in Washington, D.C., and online highlighting the role of agriculture in everyday life and marking 250 years of agricultural progress in the United States.
The Agriculture Council of America announced the theme for 2026 as “Agriculture: Together We Grow: Celebrating 250 Years of Progress in Agriculture,” emphasizing collaboration across the agricultural value chain, from farmers and ranchers to agribusinesses, educators, and consumers.
National Ag Day, observed annually for more than 40 years, is designed to raise public awareness about the importance of agriculture in providing safe, abundant, and affordable food, fiber, and renewable resources, while also supporting local and global economies. AGDAILY has been a sponsor of National Ag Day for nearly a decade.
Several events are planned to mark the 2026 observance. A virtual Ag Day program will stream live beginning at 9 a.m. ET from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, allowing audiences nationwide to participate.
In Washington, an in-person Ag Day at U.S. Department of Agriculture event will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the USDA Whitten Patio and will feature remarks from invited speakers, including the U.S. secretary of agriculture, along with student panel discussions, winning essay contest videos, and participation from commodity group leaders. American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall is also scheduled to speak.

The day will conclude with “A Taste of Agriculture” reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Kennedy Caucus Room of the Russell Senate Office Building, bringing together agricultural leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders.
In addition to national events, thousands of grassroots Ag Day activities are held each year in communities, schools, and organizations across the country, showcasing the diversity of modern agriculture and engaging young people in learning about where their food comes from.
Organizations interested in supporting the effort can participate through sponsorship opportunities, which help fund programming, outreach, and educational initiatives tied to National Ag Day.
National Ag Day is organized by the Agriculture Council of America, a nonprofit organization made up of leaders from the agricultural, food, and fiber sectors dedicated to increasing public understanding of agriculture’s role in modern society.
