July corn ended the day up 2¼¢ at $4.91¾ per bushel.

July soybeans closed up 3¾¢ at $10.50¼ per bushel.

July wheat contracts also closed higher. CBOT wheat closed up 5¢ at $5.61 per bushel. KC wheat was up 3¾¢ at $5.72¼. Minneapolis wheat was up 1½¢ at $6.17.

“[It was a] quiet day in the corn market as prices finished with small gains on Wednesday’s session,” said the Grain Market Insider newsletter by Stewart-Peterson Inc. “Fresh news for the corn market was limited, but more weakness in the U.S. dollar helped support the grain markets as traders positioned ahead of the three-day Easter weekend.”

Grain and livestock markets are closed on Friday in honor of the Good Friday holiday.

June live cattle ended the day up $2.28 at $202.08 per hundredweight (cwt). August feeder cattle closed up $1.20 at $289.45 per cwt. June lean hogs were up $2.78 at $97.95 per cwt.

As of 3:27 p.m. CT, June crude oil was up $1.30 at $62.05 per barrel.

June S&P 500 futures and Dow futures were down 116 points and 671 points, respectively.

Grains Higher This Morning: 8:57 a.m. CT

At 8:30 a.m. CT, July corn was up 3½¢ at $4.93 per bushel.

July soybeans were up 2½¢ at $10.49 per bushel.

July wheat contracts were also higher. CBOT wheat was up 6½¢ at $5.62½ per bushel. KC wheat was up 5½¢ at $5.74. Minneapolis wheat was up 6¾¢ at $6.22¼.

June live cattle were down 8¢ at $199.73 per hundredweight (cwt) at 8:30 a.m. CT. August feeder cattle were down 48¢ at $287.78 per cwt. June lean hogs were up 28¢ at $95.45 per cwt.

June crude oil was up 66¢ at $61.41 per barrel.

The U.S. Dollar Index June contract was down to 99.31.

June S&P 500 futures were down 52 points. June Dow futures were down 140 points.
