FFA members nationwide to celebrate National Ag Day

On Tuesday, March 18, FFA student members, advisors, and leaders across the country will come together to share the importance of agriculture with elected officials and their communities as part of National Ag Day.

National Ag Day, which is being celebrated on March 18 this year with the theme Together, We Grow, is a day designated to celebrate the industry that feeds, fuels, clothes, and sustains a growing world and the critical role agriculture plays in our culture and economy. Organized by the Agriculture Council of America, this day is an opportunity for others to learn how agriculture provides safe, abundant and affordable products and its essential role in producing food, fiber and fuel. AGDAILY is one of the sponsors of National Ag Day.

The National FFA Organization uses National Ag Day as another opportunity to celebrate and advocate for agricultural education and the impact of agriculture on our world. FFA is a key component of agricultural education that prepares the next generation of leaders in the science, business, and technology of agriculture, helping each student develop their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success.

National FFA CEO Scott Stump, National FFA Foundation President Molly Ball, and National FFA Manager of Advocacy, Literacy and Ag-Based Experiences Celya Glowacki will visit Washington, D.C., alongside four FFA National Officers — President Thaddeus Bergschneider, Secretary Luke Jennings, Central Region Vice President Mary Schrieber, and Eastern Region Vice President Caroline Groth. These FFA leaders will meet with leaders on Capitol Hill, hear from U.S. Department of Agriculture representatives, and discuss the state of the industry with corporate and industry partners.

“Agriculture is not just about providing food and fiber; it is the foundation of innovation, sustainability, and community development. Every day, farmers and agricultural professionals work tirelessly to adopt advanced technologies, improve yields, and care for the environment, ensuring that future generations can thrive,” Stump said. “Ag Day is a reminder of the collective effort and dedication it takes to keep our world nourished, clothed, and thriving. Together, we can honor those who make it all possible and inspire others to contribute to this vital field.”

Advocacy and educational efforts will also take place elsewhere across the country next week, timed with National Ag Day. For example, Delaware FFA will hold a thank you luncheon at Legislative Hall for elected officials and FFA students to discuss current agricultural issues and partner with New Jersey FFA to provide workshops for Washington D.C.’s three FFA chapters.
