Fendt has debuted the Fendt Optimum — the company’s first stack-fold planter — built with features from Momentum planters.
“Fendt planters are designed to give three things to farmers: create the best environment for seed placement, deliver the absolute perfect seed placement, and offer farmers the best efficiency and also flexibility. Optimum is delivering just that,” said Arthur Santos, marketing manager for Fendt planters.
The Fendt Optimum is built for corn, soybeans, sorghum, and cotton planting, and can be equipped with row unit seed hoppers or a 55-bushel center fill station. The planter is available in a variety of models to suit a farmer’s operational needs.
- FTPS12-30: 30-inch row spacing, and a transport width of 18.7 feet
- FTPS12-36: 36-inch row spacing, and a transport width of 22.5 feet
- FTPS12-38: 38-inch row spacing, and a transport width of 22.5 feet
- FTPS12-40: 40-inch row spacing, and a transport width of 22.5 feet
- FTPS16-30: 30-inch row spacing, and a transport width of 22.5 feet
The Optimum’s toolbar has four articulation points and standard wing downforce, allowing the planter to flex to move row units to be better aligned with the ground, optimal for precision technology. An optional vertical contouring hitch follows along with the ground, floating and copying the topography of the terrain as the planter is pulled through the field.
Technology
Additionally, Optimum comes standard with a whole suite of Precision Planting technology, including: a 20/20 in-cab display, vSet2 seed meters, vDrive electric drive, and DeltaForce downforce control. Optional features include the Precision Planting SpeedTube delivery system, Reveal row cleaners, and FurrowForce closing system.
The Load Logic Weight management system actively senses the planter’s weight and automatically shifts the weight from center to the wings for balanced distribution. The integrated tire inflation system adjusts tire pressure while in motion, designed to reduce soil compaction and increase the tire’s lifespan.
