FFA’s New Chapter Connect Program Builds Nationwide Bonds

The National FFA Organization launched its new Chapter Connect pilot program this year. It facilitated the first in-person connections during the 98th National FFA Convention & Expo, with interactive activities expected to continue throughout the school year.

This nationwide initiative was built around intentional engagement before, during and after the conference, and is designed to foster deeper, more meaningful relationships among FFA members. As part of this program, selected chapters from different regions and backgrounds were paired up and participated in workshops, sessions and planned convention activities together.

These relationships built leading up to the National FFA Convention will continue to grow over the next six months, as each chapter is encouraged to visit one another. The primary goal of Chapter Connect is to support student learning while fostering empathy, leadership, and cross-cultural understanding. Pictures from the Chapter Connect program can be found here.

“Chapter Connect is about more than meeting new people — it’s about building lasting relationships that help students grow as leaders in an increasingly interconnected world,” said Lloyd Daley-Graham, National FFA Organization Belonging and Engagement Manager. “By intentionally pairing chapters and creating space for shared experiences, we’re helping both students and educators expand their perspectives, strengthen their programs and find a sense of belonging through agricultural education.”

Chapters received a travel stipend to attend the 98th National FFA Convention & Expo, where more than 200 student members from 27 different U.S. states and territories participated in different events during the week, creating in-person connections to strengthen their bonds. The students quickly and naturally connected with their partner chapters and spent time together at meals, sessions, service events and other activities. Many described the experience as deeply meaningful, with several referring to their partner chapters as “family.” At the end of the week, many chapters exchanged state-themed gifts to show appreciation to their partner chapters.

The FFA advisors participating in this program also expressed appreciation for the opportunity to connect with teachers from diverse backgrounds. Participating chapters received financial assistance ranging from $1,000 to $8,000 to support their involvement.

The 99th National Convention & Expo will occur in Indianapolis from Oct. 21 to 24, 2026.
