FIRA USA has announced the launch of a new recognition program: the Women in AgRobotics of the Year Award. Making its debut at FIRA USA 2025, held Oct. 21–23 in Woodland, California, the award will honor pioneering women who are transforming the agricultural robotics industry through their vision, innovation, and leadership.

In an industry still largely led by men, these pioneers, ranging from founders, engineers, farmers, researchers, and executives, are breaking barriers and shaping the future of agricultural robotics. The award aims not only to highlight their individual achievements but also to inspire others by amplifying their voices and showcasing the powerful impact women are making in Ag Tech.

This marks the inaugural year for the Women in AgRobotics of the Year Award, developed by FIRA USA, a global leader in agricultural robotics events. By spotlighting women’s influence in this fast-growing field, FIRA USA hopes to encourage more women to enter, innovate, and lead in agricultural robotics.

Nominations are open to all women holding influential or strategic roles in the agricultural robotics sector. Candidates may nominate themselves or be nominated by others. Submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Professional Role and Contribution: A description of the nominee’s role and key achievements in the ag robotics industry.
  • Project References: Links and descriptions of relevant projects that showcase leadership, impact, or role modeling. Contributions to diversity and inclusion in ag robotics may also be highlighted.
  • Why You?: A statement explaining why the nominee should be recognized.
  • Video Introduction: A brief (max. 2 minutes) video presenting the nominee’s impact and achievements.

The award will be judged by a distinguished panel of women leaders and advocates from across agriculture and AgTech, ensuring a fair and unbiased selection process. The 2025 jury includes representatives from:

  • Women in Ag Magazine – Antoon Vanderstraeten
  • California Women for Agriculture – Paige Gilligan
  • American Agri-Women – Chrissy Wozniak
  • Women in Ag Tech (WiAT) – Melinda Taschetta-Millane

The winner of the Women in AgRobotics of the Year Award will receive:

  • An official FIRA USA trophy and recognition on stage during the event.
  • Visibility across FIRA USA’s communication platforms, including newsletters and social media.
  • Media opportunities, including a feature in Women in Ag Magazine and Agricultural Robotics News by FIRA and North American Ag.
  • Potential collaborations with jury partner organizations such as California Women for Agriculture, American Agri-Women, and Women in Ag Tech (WiAT).
  • Additional prizes, which may include mentorships, professional resources, or media exposure.

Nominations are now open, and FIRA USA encourages its partners, speakers, and wider community to take part in this inaugural recognition. By spotlighting the women who are shaping the future of agricultural robotics, this award promises to inspire the next generation of leaders and innovators. The deadline for nominations is Oct. 5.
