More USDA Office Lease Terminations Walked Back

The Department of Government Efficiency has removed additional USDA offices from its lease termination list, further trimming the more than 100 ag department offices originally listed on the DOGE Wall of Receipts.

In total, 18 more termination listings have been removed since Successful Farming first reported the original list had been shortened. Those 18 terminations were projected to save $9.92 million.

Now, just 31 USDA agency offices are listed for lease termination, with a total savings listed as $9.83 million.

The 18 offices no longer listed include three Farm Service Agency (FSA) offices, 10 Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) offices, three Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) offices, and two Rural Housing Service (RHS) offices. Here’s a closer look.

Farm Service Agency

Three FSA office lease terminations are no longer listed:

  • Madera, California (state)
  • Ponce, Puerto Rico (county)
  • Lares, Puerto Rico (county)

The removal of one, the state FSA office in Madera, California, from the lease termination list was anticipated based on correspondence from USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins to U.S. Senator Adam Schiff, which Successful Farming reported on previously.

Madera’s was among a number of USDA agency office lease terminations that Rollins said she and her team had requested be rescinded by the General Services Administration. At the time of the letter, the rescission of the Madera office lease termination had not been confirmed.

Natural Resources Conservation Service

Ten NRCS office lease terminations have been removed from the DOGE Wall of Receipts. Eight are in the continental United States, and two are in Puerto Rico.

  • Conway, Arkansas
  • Fargo, North Dakota
  • Gallup, New Mexico
  • Oxnard, California
  • Puyallup, Washington
  • Raton, New Mexico
  • Woodland, California
  • Yreka, California
  • Arecibo, Puerto Rico
  • San Sebastian, Puerto Rico

Termination rescissions of the Oxnard, Woodland, and Yreka offices were expected based on the correspondence between Secretary Rollins and Senator Schiff. For all three offices, Rollins and her team had requested that the lease terminations be rescinded by the General Services Administration. However, the rescissions had not been confirmed, and the listings had not been removed as of our previous reporting.

Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service

Three APHIS office lease terminations have been removed from the listings. Two are in New England, and one is in Idaho’s state capital.

  • Boise, Idaho
  • Uxbridge, Massachusetts
  • Wallingford, Connecticut

Rural Housing Service

Two RHS office lease terminations have been rescinded. One is in the continental United States, and one is in Puerto Rico.

  • Topeka, Kansas
  • Mayagüez, Puerto Rico

Remaining Lease Terminations Listed

As of July 2, 2025, a total of 31 USDA agency offices were still listed for lease termination by DOGE. According to the Wall of Receipts, the total savings of the remaining office lease terminations is about $9.83 million.

Originally, more than 100 offices were listed with a total reported savings approaching $60 million.
