National FFA unveils 96th annual convention talent

The 96th National FFA Convention and Expo is just right around the corner — and with that comes an excellent concert lineup, hypnotist, inspiring speakers, and the World’s Toughest Rodeo.
The full dates of the convention will be Nov. 1 through 4, 2023. It will be held at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

FFA concert series line-up

Concert attendees will want to plan ahead and purchase tickets through Ticketmaster. Each performance will cost $60 and require a mobile entry. This year’s concert series is sponsored by Culver’s.

Lainey Wilson

First in the line-up will be Lainey Wilson, playing on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The leading female nominee and winner at the 2023 ACM awards, Wilson is acclaimed as a top “artist to watch.” The Louisiana native has made a name for herself in the industry as one of music’s hottest new artists.

Dillon Carmichael

Dillon Carmichael will serve as a special guest for Lainey Wilson on Wednesday. Born and raised in Burgin, Kentucky, Carmichael rose to fame in his 2018 Riser House debut, the Dave Cobb-produced Hell On An Angel, which prompted NPR to praise his “deep holler” and The New York Times to declare that his voice moves “with the heft and certainty of a tractor-trailer.”

World’s Toughest Rodeo

Along with the star-studded concert series, convention attendees can also attend the World’s Toughest Rodeo. The rodeo will be held Wednesday through Friday evenings during the convention with tickets running $35 per person.

Hypnotist Shows

Along with the rodeo and singing performances, Michael C. Anthony will perform on Hypnotized Live on Thursday and Friday during the convention at the Indiana Convention Center. Tickets can be purchased for $25 each.
The hilarious show involves the audience and volunteers in embracing the extraordinary and unimaginable suggestions, experiencing amnesia, unique visions, celebrity transformations, bull riding, and countless other bizarre occurrences.

Session speakers

Juan Bendaña

Juan Bendaña, renowned speaker, author, and disk jockey will kick off the opening session. As the author of the 100 Day Playbook, he is known for helping students to forge better habits, enhance productivity, and optimize their lives.

Corey Flournoy

During Friday morning’s session, Flournoy is known for his careers in and out of the agriculture industry. In 1994, Flournoy etched his name in FFA history as the organization’s first urban and African-American national president.

Currently, Flournoy is the Executive in Residence for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion helping to advance EDI strategy, initiatives, and efforts at the national, state, and chapter level.

Convention registration

Convention early bird registration opens on Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. EDT.
Wednesday to Saturday event access includes entrance to one opening session, general sessions, American Degree Ceremony, Expo, Shopping Mall, and Student and Teacher Workshops. Early Bird rates are $80 with an FFA Housing Block registration.
Standard registration rates are $100 per person, and onsite registration will be $105 per person.
Daily registration rates will be available with an advance registration fee of $40 per person for Thursday and Friday and $18 per person for Saturday. Onsite daily registration rates are $48 per person and $22 per person, respectively.
