BASF donates $500 each to 3 Nebraska FFA chapters

At Husker Harvest Days last week, BASF donated $500 each to three FFA chapters in Nebraska. The chapters were chosen by people who completed their “passport” through the BASF booth at the annual trade show.
Those who got their passport stamped and learned about seed innovation, new herbicides, and farm technology were entered in a drawing, with a winner chosen each day. The $500 prize could be given to a local 4-H or FFA chapter of their choice.
Isaac Bergquist chose Southern Valley FFA, Kent Preister picked Boone Central FFA, and Ely Anderson went with Callaway FFA. They were among the tens of thousands of people who attended the event in Wood River, Nebraska.
“People are always appreciative when we give money to a local cause that means something to them. 4-H and FFA chapters are developing the future of agriculture, said Jennifer Wood, BASF Area Manager in Nebraska.

The three passport stops needed for the entry were:

  • See how Xitavo soybean seed integrates innovation, quality and agronomics for product performance
  • Learn about Surtain herbicide — the first solid encapsulation premix on the market for powerful residual control pre- or early-post application in corn
