Kubota Tractor Corp. unveiled the MX4900 at this year’s National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville. The MX4900 becomes a new, lower price point in the company’s MX series lineup while offering an array of features for farmers, ranchers, municipalities, and more.

“The main new feature of this machine is that it’s the lowest horsepower of the MX lineup, but the chassis remains the same so you get all the same features, such as loader capabilities and hydraulic flow,” said Tyler Weyenberg, Kubota product manager. “This will do everything the bigger machines will do except for heavy PTO work like brush cutting.”

Powertrain Specs

There are two types of transmissions available on the MX4900: a gear drive transmission with a 50.3 horsepower turbocharged engine with eight forward and eight reverse speeds; and an HST transmission model with a 51.8-hp turbocharged engine and three-range speed. Both models come equipped with a Kubota diesel engine and Common-Rail System (CRS) with electronically controlled fuel injection.

“The HST or hydrostatic transmission is really user-friendly,” Weyenberg said. “It also comes standard with cruise control.”

Operator Comfort

The MX4900 provides comfort features in both the ROPS and cab models with simplified controls. Some of the MX4900 features include a roomy operator station, optional suspension air ride seat with optional armrests on the cab model, and standard rubber floor mats, as well as all-new optional dealer-installed LED lighting kits. The cab model is heated and air-conditioned and comes with an optional rear defogger and rear wiper.

Available Implements

The MX4900’s optional LA1065A front loader was engineered, built, and manufactured by Kubota. With a high lift capacity, lift height, and breakout force, the front loader features simultaneous lift and dump capabilities of the loader and bucket to help improve productivity.

“My favorite thing about this tractor is the regenerative loader valves,” Weyenberg said. “You have the ability to lift and curl at the same time, and between the HST and the loader valves, it makes loader work a breeze, and a lot of fun to play around on.”

Additionally, the LA1065A font loader comes standard with a two-lever quick coupler that allows for easy attachment and detachment of other optional front attachments like grapple buckets or bale spears to help reduce transition times between attachments.

The MX4900 will be available in spring 2025 at authorized Kubota dealers, with a list price starting around $32,000. For more information, or to find an authorized Kubota dealer near you, visit kubotaUSA.com.
