Great Plains has introduced new sizes of its BD7410 min-till drill, and the BD7510: a brand-new box drill for no-till operations.

These new box drills are designed around narrow transport sizes for ease of navigation while moving field to field, capable of traveling through narrow gates and roadways.

“Great Plains is excited to grow our narrow-transport product portfolio, making more high-performance drills available to today’s producers,” said Kale Downing, box drill product manager for Great Plains. “The BD7410 and BD7510 are game-changing drills in terms of the way they combine transportability, productivity, versatility, and precision. Switching between field and transport modes couldn’t be easier with the innovative hydraulic folding tongue design.”

Technology

The BD7410 and BD7510 fold to under 10 feet wide, and both feature hydraulic tongue latches, folding and unfolding with a single hydraulic lever from the cab. This allows producers to quickly change between transporting and operation to maximize productivity in the field.

Both the BD7410 and BD7510 use Great Plains’ metering system to meter large seeds, small seeds, and fertilizer. A large box capacity is available with optional split-box capabilities. Both models can also be outfitted with an optional small seeds box attachment, Keeton seed firmers, and performance seed tubes.

The BD7410 is now available in 15- and 20-foot models with 5-, 6-, or 7.5-inch row spacings. These models are designed for ease of soil penetration in difficult conditions, and can be adjusted with an 18-position T-handle. This model also has an opener sub-frame with multiple pin positions to fine tune down pressure from the hydraulic cylinders. This allows operators to quickly change the amount of down pressure and easily lift it out of the way for transport and end-rows.
