For the 10th consecutive year, the National Dairy Herd Information Association seeks scholarship applications from third- and fourth-year veterinary medicine students. Applicants must be enrolled at a college accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Education. Successful applicants will receive a $1,500 scholarship.

The National DHIA Scholarship Committee will evaluate candidates based on their interest in dairy medicine, extracurricular activities, and proficiency in using dairy software and records to enhance dairy management and animal health.

Applicants are required to submit a letter detailing their academic background, experience with DHIA data, career plans, and proposed solutions for challenges facing dairy veterinary medicine. Two reference letters must also accompany the application.

Applications are due by Dec. 31, 2024, with recipients to be announced at the National DHIA Leadership Sessions and 60th Annual Meeting, March 3-6, 2025, in Nashville, Tenn.

Additionally, the National DHIA is awarding scholarships to undergraduate students, with recipients to be announced at the 2025 National DHIA Annual Meeting. Applicants will be evaluated on scholastic achievements, leadership, work experience, and their understanding of DHIA. Scholarships are available to full-time students at technical, two-year, or four-year institutions.

Eligibility is limited to family members or employees of herds on DHIA test, or employees of DHIA affiliates, who are also members of National DHIA. Each scholarship is valued at $1,000, and applications must be submitted by October 31, 2024.
