Claas has announced an expanded Disco mower line and three wider Volto tedders will be coming to North America in 2025.

Disco Mowers

Claas is launching four new mower-conditioner combinations with the Disco 9300 C Comfort, Disco 9300 RC Comfort, Disco 9300 CAS Business, as well as an updated Disco 1100 with Comfort features.

The first three mowers are available in working widths of 29 feet and 10 inches; or 29 feet and 2 inches, with two rows of eight counter-rotating mower discs.

Farmers can choose from a standard tine conditioner (C), a double-roller conditioner (RC), or tine conditioner with auto swather (CAS). The conditioners are reinforced with Hardox plates for increased resistance and longer service life.

The mowers include hydraulic non-stop collision protection that quickly pivots the arms up and over obstacles. Longer swathing plates for narrower swaths are available on the RC model.

Comfort models have Active Float ground pressure control, using hydraulics with direct control over the arms and load-sensing. Individual lift and optional folding protective covers are available on the C and RC models.

The Disco 1100 Comfort is available in working widths of  35 feet and 5 inches; or 31 feet and 2 inches, with two rows of nine counter-rotating mower discs. Its hydraulic telescopic arms have a wide adjustment range for optimal overlap on tight bends or slopes.

Claas

There are four new Volto tedder models with Claas’ largest working widths to date: the 1300 T and TS and 1500 T and TS. Both working widths are available in the standard trailed “T” version and the “TS” version with self-steering chassis. The 1300 has 12 rotors, while the 1500 has 14 rotors. The rotors have a diameter of 4 feet and 11 inches, and six tine arms each. The tines are at equal angles with five windings and heavy-duty design for tine loss protection.

The 1300 and 1500 feature a new frame and chassis design to optimize ground-contour following and soil protection. The Y-shaped axle beam has a slender design and center of gravity close to the rotor frame on the chassis, and maximizes ground clearance when the rotors are raised.

Raking height can be adjusted without tools by a crank handle, with the spreading angle ranging from 12° to 16°. The Permalink drive has also been redesigned for more power and less torque. The finger clutches are reinforced with larger bearings, and feature new encapsulated rotor drives with oil filling.

When the TS versions with self-steering chassis are in working position, there is no distortion between chassis and rotor frames, minimizing damage to the swatch caused by rotor wheels. The TS automatically steers straight ahead when the rotor frames are raised. The chassis has large wheels up to 500/55-20 and a diameter of 3 feet and 5.5 inches, with dual function as soil-friendly guide wheels.

The tedders have a compact transportation position, with a 10-foot, 9.5-inch height; 9-foot, 10-inch width, and short length for optimal view and maneuvering. Operation and folding requires only one single-acting hydraulic spool valve, and one double-acting hydraulic spool valve. Another single-acting spool valve is required for the optional edge-tedding crop guard.
