Utah’s pork industry is a significant player in the agriculture industry, but pigskins are also a big deal when it comes to Utah State University.

During the Utah Utes’ game day on Oct. 28, ESPN got the scoop on quarterback Bryson Barnes. In the feel-good type of story that ties football fans back to agriculture, and visa versa, we learn that Barnes grew up in Milford and spent much of his childhood helping his mom clean and care for pigs.

“I always had a ‘the work needs to get done’ mentality with the pigs,” Barnes said in ESPN’s College GameDay feature. “It doesn’t smell great, but those chores taught me hard work and responsibility.”
