Off-highway tire manufacturer BKT has launched four new tires designed for modern agriculture.
The Agrimax Procrop is designed for sprayers and row crop usage. The company’s VF technology enables farm machinery to carry heavier loads at reduced inflation pressure with a wide footprint to help reduce soil compaction. A centrally closed tread and strong sidewalls provide high lateral stability. An open shoulder design improves traction on a variety of surfaces.
The Agrimax Spargo SB is also designed for sprayers and row crops but is also suited for orchards and vineyards. A more open and higher tread pattern — made possible by a steel belt, increased tread depth, and narrower lug width — means better road handling at speeds up to 62 mph.
“Transport speed and the level of product innovation are two crucial factors for modern agricultural operators, but we always aim high with our solutions to meet the increasingly demanding challenges and even more complex needs,” said Dilip Vaidya, senior president and director of technology, BKT. “That is why our state-of-the-art tires also combine operator comfort and safety, ensuring better control of farming equipment both in the fields and on the road. By using advanced materials and cutting-edge development techniques, we are able to assure end users long-term reliability and durability, even in the most challenging operating situations.”
The Agrimax Proharvest tire features a reinforced polyester casing with three layers of steel belts, making it durable in the field and on the road. An open shoulder design aids in traction in rough and wet terrain and is self-cleaning.
The Ridemax Frost tires were developed for winter using a natural rubber compound formulated to withstand the cold with flexibility and elasticity at below-freezing temperatures. The tread pattern improves grip and reduces sliding on snowy or icy surfaces.
“We are delighted to have launched four new solutions representing our strong commitment to innovation and technology while never forgetting the common thread that unites us with the industry of the future: sustainability,” said Arvind Poddar, chariman and managing director of BKT. “Over the past few years, we have made significant strides in terms of environmental protection, and we firmly believe that each action we take — along the entire production chain — can generate value and a positive impact for everyone from the community to the ecosystem, as well as for the entire industry.”
