The National FFA Organization membership has reached a new milestone with Texas and California leading the nation. Membership continues to swell beyond the historic 1 million-student milestone.

According to the organization, total student membership now stands at 1,042,245, marking a 1.5 percent increase from last year. These members are part of 9,407 local chapters across the nation for the 2024-2025 school year. The growth is believed to reflect the continued interest in agricultural education and leadership opportunities for youth, as well as the expanding diversity of careers available in agriculture.

“It’s exciting to watch the interest in agricultural education and FFA continue to grow,” said National FFA CEO Scott Stump. “We know there are many opportunities in the field of agriculture — from being a leader in your community to filling the need in the talent pipeline in one of the more than 350 careers in agriculture. Together, we welcome our members to a family that cultivates growth, leadership, and a brighter future in agriculture.”

In addition to student membership, the FFA’s alumni and supporters network continues to expand, reaching 802,412 alumni members across 2,060 alumni chapters nationwide.

The announcement of again surpassing more than 1 million FFA members comes ahead of the 98th National FFA Convention & Expo, which is set to take place October 29 to Nov. 1 in Indianapolis. Last week, the national finalists for National Chapter Awards, National FFA Agriscience Fair, and Agricultural Proficiency Awards were announced.

In 2024, the convention had over 70,000 students in attendance from around the nation, composed of members, advisors, and guests. National FFA said it anticipates seeing that number grow this year.
